About Grove
Robert B. Grove Elementary opened in 1975. Grove began his long career at Union in 1945 as a science teacher and basketball coach. He became Union High School's principal in 1946 and served as superintendent from 1960-1975.
Grove Elementary underwent an extensive remodeling in 2010 and 2011, which included the additions of an expanded gym and a new office. A re-dedication of the school was held in November 2011.

Accreditation and staff
Grove Elementary is accredited by the Oklahoma State Department of Education.
Grove is also classified as a school-wide Title I school.
Our staff is very highly qualified with one National Board Certified Staff member. We have staff members with a master’s degree in English Language Learning. Many others also have advanced degrees.

Principals
Principal
Randi Aubertine
Randi Aubertine was named principal of Grove Elementary in 2023. She had been assistant principal for Rosa Parks since 2021. She previously served as assistant principal at Jarman Elementary, and previously worked in the district at Boevers as a special education teacher and then served as an assistant principal at Grove, Briarglen, Jefferson and Clark.
She received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from The State University of New York at Cortland, where she also received her master’s degree in literacy. Aubertine holds a master’s degree in school administration through Northeastern State University and is currently working on a master’s degree in special education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis at Oklahoma University.
Aubertine joined the Union team in 2010 as a special education teacher at Boevers Elementary. She began her teaching career in New York where she taught third and fourth grades and also served as a multi-age classroom teacher. She enjoys spending time with her family and playing in the yard with her four dogs.
Assistant Principal
Donna Ross
Donna Ross was named assistant principal for Grove Elementary in 2024, moving from McAuliffe Elementary where she served as assistant principal since August 2022.
Ross comes to Union from Tulsa Public Schools where she was a teacher at McKinley Elementary School.
Ross has 27 years of experience in education, and had been working at TPS since 1995. Her extensive knowledge of curriculum and consistent practice of utilizing research-based instructional strategies, have resulted in several recognitions and awards. One time, she even received a proclamation from the mayor and the Tulsa City Council, and she was a finalist in NEA’s Bullying and Harassment Codrea 2012.
More recently, Ross had the honor to serve as 2021 Tulsa Public Schools Teacher of the Year as well as an Oklahoma top-12 finalist for state teacher of the year. Ross currently serves on the State Superintendent Advisory Board and State Department of Education Math Advisory Committee.
Ross received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Langston University and her master’s degree from Southern Nazarene University.
